14. Nervous Noah had to wait for God's time (Gen 8:1-15)

This passage tells the timetable of the flood. It must have taken more than Noah had expected.

Read Gen 8:1-15 (NET) or Gen 8:1-15 (ESV)

600/2/17: flood started

(          ) days: the waters prevailed over the earth

600/7/17: the ark rested the Mt. (              )

600/10/1: mountain tops were visible

(           ) days later: Noah sent out a raven and a dove. They could not find a resting place.

Seven days later: Noah sent out a dove. It brought a fresh (         ) in its beak.

(           ) days later: Noah sent out a dove, but not returned

601/1/1: Noah saw the surface of the ground was dry

601/2/27: (           ) spoke to Noah, ‘come out.'

They needed to stay in the ark until God commanded him to come out. You might be nervous when your unpleasant situation continues. Even at that moment, the Lord (            ) you and is doing His work of salvation. (hint v1)

Meditation for Application

Noah was in the ark for one year and ten days. God had told him when he should get in the ark, but not when he would get out. Noah had to wait indefinitely.

The time of God, even Jesus doesn't know the time of His Father. Waiting is a simple but important deed of faith.

What is a life situation that you want it to end? Trust and wait. God knows you are in that situation and is working on it.
