Amalek was a grandson of Esau. Later, when the Israelites got out of Egypt, the Amalekites attacked the Israelites from the tail of the caravan (Ex 17). Thus, the Amalekites became the enemy of the Israelites through the generations.
Lot, Ishmael, and Esau all walked out from the covenantal line. Though they were not chosen by God, they were the first Gentiles who could hear ‘the gospel’ and experience God. By their own choice, they left for the world.
On the contrary, some gentiles voluntarily joined God’s chosen people, like Rahab, Lot, and Gibeonites.
