Answers and Meditation

The Spirit of God was with him and enabled him to know all

Joseph advised choosing a WISE and discerning man to manage this national crisis so that the land would SURVIVE the famine. The theology beyond this passage is this: the wisdom from God gives us life.

Joseph was wise because the Spirit of God was with him. It is not the wise man who has learned a lot or experienced a lot, but the one who accompanies God is the wise man.

It was so dramatic that a prisoner became a ruler of all Egypt. And Pharaoh was a nominal king, Joseph was the actual ruler.

The Israelites lived in Egypt and heard about the Egyptian mythology tellings about many gods who control nature. However, this story told them that the God of Joseph was superior to the gods of Egypt and Pharaoh.

The Lord uses Joseph to rule the whole Egypt. Our God uses His people to rule the world. And this governing in God's wisdom saves people from destruction.

Joseph’s life in Egypt had been tough though the Bible doesn’t explicitly mention it.

Every, Joseph

The blessing God had meant in Abraham's covenant was the giving of life. See the repeated use of ‘food’ or ‘grain.’ Joseph provided their food. We can see Jesus from Joseph.
