God planned seven years of good harvest and seven years of famine, announced it through Pharaoh’s dreams, and raised Joseph to provide a way of life for all people. Thus, God is glorified when people get salvation through His chosen people, especially Joseph, in this episode.
The story of Joseph shows how the Lord fulfills His promise to Abraham: the blessing of all nations through Abraham's descendants. This promise will be fulfilled completely through Jesus Christ. We can find similarities between Jesus and Joseph. Sinfulness of the chosen people -> rejection and betrayal against the Father's beloved Son -> suffering of the Son -> elevation of the Son by the Father -> all get salvation.
