24. The Provision of Food for those who want to eat full (Ex 15:22-16:15)
The Lord heals our sickness and fills what we lack of.
π Read Exodus 15:22 – 16:15
What lesson does God teach them through the bitter water of Marah? (26)
They complained, “If only we had died by the hand of ( ) in Egypt, when we sat by the pots of ( ), when we ate ( ) to the full, for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with ( ).”
How many “murmuring” (meaning complaining) do you read in this passage?

The Lord is my healer
Probably, they had diseases because of bad water.
Because the Lord is their healer, their obedience will
guarantee their health. They didn’t need to take care of all the other things. Only following the Lord will ensure a secure life.
This message is similar to Matt 6:33, “But above all pursue
his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be give to you as
well.”
The Lord, meat, bread, hunger
They valued the satisfaction of flesh more than being God’s people. They totally misunderstood God: his goodness and his power. They thought, “God would have killed us if we disobeyed His command of exodus.” “God is not able to feed all Israelites. They are too many.”
6 ~ 8 times (2, 7, 8, 9, 11)
The Lord said He would rain bread from heaven. God will provide abundantly. They complained that they didn’t have enough food to eat full and satisfied (3). The Lord planned to make them satisfied (8,12).
They didn’t have enough food to eat to satiety. When they saw the food shortage was coming, they should have prayed for food instead of complaining.
We often complain not because of a lack of food but because of a lack of delicious food. We complain not because we don’t have a bed to sleep in but because we don’t have a nice house. We complain because we cannot do what we want.
