Answers and Meditation

2:1:1:2

Adding the olive oil of 1 gallon (4 quarts = 7.6lb)

Aaron and his sons (the priests), holy, cut off

They should not use the oil for personal purpose or inappropriately.

The ark of the testimony, most holy, belonging

The Sacred Anointing Oil as used for anointing priests and the altar and other utencils in the tabernacle. Thus, they were sanctified. The Incense was used to smoke before the ark of the testimony. The Bible says they are holy, several times.

If you don’t treat the Sacred Anointing Oil and the Incense holy, you are denying that you are holy ( = chosen) people of God.

The instruction of the oil and the incense gave them a stern warning. There is no warning like that in previous instructions (30:1-21). Treating an holy object unholy could sever their covenant relationship with God because such a behavior itself denies the premise of covenant: God’s chosen people.

Similarly, any attitude of denying Jesus’ redemptive sacrifice will destroy your relationship with God.

"For this reason, whoever eats the bread of drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord." (1 Cor 11:27)
