54. Building up the church, not the tent (Ex 35:23-36:7)

A willing heart, God’s given skill and coworkers. These principles of God’s project focus more on the church than a physical building.

πŸ‘‰ Read Exodus 35:23-36:7

Everyone who (          ) materials for the tabernacle brought them. Everyone who was (            ) spun the tent materials. (23-26)

Including their (            ), all Israelites whose hearts were (                ) brought (                ) offerings. (27-29)

The Lord assigned Bezalel as the project lead and filled him with (               ). He also assigned (            ) as his helper. The Lord has given them (         ) and (          ) for the works. (35:30-36:1)

People brought materials more than enough, and Moses ordered them to stop. (verses      ~       ).

Answers and Meditation

had, skilled

God doesn’t ask for something you don’t have or could not do.

“Skilled”: the literal translation is ‘heart of wisdom.’

Leaders, willing, freewill

The Spirit of God, Oholiab, skill, ability

3 ~ 7

The Lord abundantly motivated them to bring offerings. 35:27-29 also imply that. Everyone willingly participated in this project.

It was not built by one or two but by everyone’s contribution. Thus, it was the work of God.

Here, we can find rules in God’s works and church ministry.

- Participants are supposed to have willing hearts.

- God will give skills and ability. Serve with what you have.

Cooperation of leaders. Everyone will participate.

It is not a mere construction project; it is building a community of faith, the body of Christ.
