Answers and Meditation

2,3,1,4, confess

When they became guilty, they were supposed to bring sin offerings. These sins seem trivial to the people of modern days. However, the Lord wants His people free from any sort of guilt.

We learn two lessons here. 1) The sin offering is required when you are guilty of sin. That means there are many unknown sins. The sin offering cannot remove all your sins but only lessen the guilt in your heart. Do not brag that you are sinless after sin offering. 2) Any little guilt in your heart is forbidden before the Lord. The Lord sees the attitude of your heart more than how less sinful you are than others. It is because we all are utterly sinful.

Sin offering, burnt offering

Wheat flour

The Lord provided a way of atonement for the poor.

They should not add olive oil or frankincense to the sin offering of flour because it is not the grain offering. After offering up a portion of it in smoke, the remainder will be given to the priest, like the grain offering. However, the eating of two offerings had different implications. The eating of sin offerings implies bearing the sin's burden, while the grain offering is given to the priests as their portion.

Eating a sin offering is literally the same as eating a sin. In Hebrew, sin and sin offering have the same word, hatah.
