(25-29) Moses offered a wave offering: the fat portion and (                ) of the ordination ram, some unleavened bread, and (              ) and his sons. Then, the sacrifice and bread on their hands will be (               ) on the altar. Moses waved (             ), and it was his portion.

(30-32) Moses sprinkled the (         ) and the (          ) from the altar on Aaron and his sons and their garments to consecrate them. They are to eat the (             ) and the (              ) from the offering basket.

Why must Aaron and his sons stay in the Tabernacle for seven days? (33-35)

Answers and Meditation

Burnt, ordinance, earlobe, thumb, big toe.

They applied three times the oil or blood on the new priest. First, he will be anointed with the oil on his head (12). The blood of the ordination ram will be applied to his right earlobe, thumb, and big toe. And lastly, the sprinkling of the oil and the altar blood on them and their garments.

Right thigh, Aaron, burned up, the breast

Moses waved Aaron and his sons together with the offerings in their hands. Moses offered Aaron and his sons to the Lord and received them back as priests. This shows that the priesthood was given by God, and It was God who installed them as priests. And the offering in their hands would be burned on the altar.

Wave offering is to wave back and forth, not left and right. The direction of waving shows giving and receiving. Wave offering is to give to the Lord and to receive it back as a gift from the Lord.

Oil, blood, boiled meat, bread

They are ordained and consecrated for seven whole days.

The Bible repeats, “just as the Lord has commanded.”
