Answers and Meditation

Sinai, twenty, army, leaders

Note that the Levites are missing in this list of the tribal leaders of verses 6-15. The names are in the order of the sons of Leah, the sons of Rachel, and the sons of Bilhah and Zilpah.

46500, 59300, 74600, 35400, 62700, 603550

They will be responsible for the tabernacle.

Otherwise, the Israelites will treat or approach the Tabernacle presumptuously, and the Lord will kill them.

They were counted as the Lord’s army. The passage repeats in the passage of counting of every tribe. They were brought out of Egypt as the Lord’s army. Ex 12:41 "And at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, to the very day, all the Lord's divisions [armies] went out from Egypt."

The Lord’s army will triumph everywhere they go unless they are punished by the Lord for their sins. That’s why the Lord assigned the Levites to take care of the Tabernacle, the presence of their Holy God.

We are saved to be the Lord’s army to fight the spiritual battle. Unless God punishes us, the victory is ours, for God is our leader. Obey His commands and move forward to the spiritual battle, for we are called to be His soldiers.
