35: Balaam’s second oracle: God should not change His mind (Num 23:11 – 24)

Balak became angry at Balaam and requested him to try another place.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Read Numbers 23:11-24

Balak told Balaam, “Come with me to another place where you will see only a (          ) of them, not all of them. (             ) them for me there.”

These are the reasons why Balaam could not curse Israel. God doesn’t change his (          ) to bless Israel. God’s mighty power is with them so that no (          ) works against Jacob.

What are the two blessings of God for Israel? (21)

Answers and Meditation

part, curse

Balak expected God would let Balaam curse Israel in another place and a different setting.

Mind, spell

God’s faithfulness and power are two attributes we can trust He will keep His promises.

Forgiving their sins, God’s abidance among them

The first oracle describes Israel’s blessing of numerous populations. That’s why Balak asked Balaam to move to another place where he could only see part of them.

The blessing in the second oracle is greater than in the first. Their blessing is the abidance of the Almighty God among them. For this, their sins are forgiven. And this is not all; there is more to come. ‘they will not lie down until theyr eat their prey.’ (24)

The more Balak tries to curse Israel, the stronger confirmation of their blessing is given.
