47: Requesting inheritance in non-Canaanite land (Num 32: 1 - 19)

Two tribes came and asked to settle on the east side of the Jordan, which is not a part of Canaan. Moses refused their request at first.

πŸ‘‰ Read Numbers 32:1 - 19

Why did they want to stay on the other side of the river?

Moses replied to them, ‘Why do you (                 ) the intent of the Israelites to cross over into the land that (                             )?”

According to verses 11 – 12, not willing to enter the land God has given them is not following the Lord (                       ).

The two tribes offered their plan. Moses ‘We will maintain ourselves in armed readiness and go (              ) the Israelites until whenever we have brought them to (            ) place. We will not return to (                ) until every Israelite has (                  ).’

Answers and Meditations

The land was ideal for their large size of cattle.

They rather wanted to settle down in the newly acquired land. But this land doesn’t belong to the land of Canaan, which is the west side of the Jordan River.

Frustrate, the Lord has given them.

Their request might discourage the other Israelites who needed to engage in wars to conquer the land.

Wholeheartedly

Devote your life to the Lord's disposal regardless of what He has intended.

Before, their, our homes, his inheritance

They said they would fight for their fellow Israelites. In such a way, they could prove their intention to stay on that land was not to avoid being involved in the battle.

Seeking an easy life while forsaking the Lord’s mission would discourage our co-workers who minister in tougher situations.

You can show genuine faith when you use your money and time for the Lord and join the spiritual battle for your comrades.
