Drive out all the inhabitants of the land
Divide the land by lot among your families and inherit
them.
The land of Canaan was chosen by God and had special importance in the Lord's plan of salvation. Anyone who lives in the chosen land should be holy. Several passages in the Bible demand the same law for anyone who lives in the land: the Israelites and the Gentiles.
You are called to cultivate the land and to inherit it down to your descendants. Through the land, you serve God and experience His blessing.
The land is the place where you manifest God to the world. The land implies
the mission given to God’s people. Having a mission in God’s kingdom confirms
your belonging to the kingdom.
Land, irritants, trouble, land, them, you
Though the Israelites were God’s chosen people, living in the
land required special attention. Note that being kicked out of the land
doesn’t mean rejecting as the Lord’s people.
