05: Broadening of ministry & not understanding family (Mark 3:7 – 35)
More people crowded to Jesus, and Jesus appointed twelve disciples. However, His family didn’t understand the gospel.

Q: So many people from all around the world came to Jesus for they heard ( ). But, they seemed not to know Jesus was ( ). (7 – 12)
ANS: what he had done, the Son of God.
Verse 10 says that people are crowded and pressed toward Jesus.
Why did Jesus order the spirits not to disclose His identity? Their knowing would distract the preaching of the gospel and the Kingdom of God.
Q: What three things can you expect when you become Jesus' disciple? (14)
ANS: You will be with Jesus and sent to preach. Also, you will be given the authority to cast out demons.
ANS: Satan is not stupid that he would ( cast out ) his subjects (24-26). In fact, Satan already has been bound. Thus, Jesus could save ( people ) from his power (27). Casting out demons is the work of the ( Holy Spirit ) (28-29).
Q. When Jesus’ family heard that Jesus was out of his mind, they tried to restrain him. Then, Jesus said, “Whoever does the ( ) is my brother and sister and mother.”
ANS: will of God
When the gospel propagates, it creates a new identity and relationship while it weakens existing old relationships.
Jesus’ family would believe Jesus later.
