The southern border starts from the waters of Jericho, goes up to the hill country of ( Bethel ), passes the territory of Lower ( Beth Horon) and Gezer, and ends at the sea. Shechem was located in Manasseh's territory but belonged to Ephraim. (v9) Many other towns belonged to tribes different from their geographical location.

The present locations of biblical towns are not accurate.
