35: The Death of Saul ( 1Samuel 31:1 – 13)
Following the omen given by the spirit of Samuel, Saul and his three sons died the next day.

Although chapter 30 occurs chronologically after chapter 31, it is narrated beforehand to show that it was part of David’s discipline—assuming that Saul’s death marks the end of David’s flight.
The Bible emphasizes that Saul and his sons died on the same day. David’s life on the run had seemed unending, but suddenly, the Lord brought it to an end through Saul’s death.
