Meditation for Application
Even though they were made in God's image and blessed, they died as the Lord had stated.
However, God's intention for them was not evil. As Enoch walked with the Lord, he went to the Lord's presence without death.
Notably, God had not promised this way of salvation but saved Enoch when he walked with the Lord.
They wanted comfort from their labor. Thus Lamech named his son Noah (comfort). However, he did not mention why the ground was cursed. It was God's grace that the ground was cursed instead of Adam who had sinned. But sinful man used the situation from God's grace to blame God saying God cursed the land.
They didn't follow Enoch's example to live but merely wished a comfort from toil in blaming God. They ended up with the flood in chapter 6.
